New Members
- You will need to know the SMEMSIC region you live or work in. Click on the map above to determine your region.
- You will need to know your Michigan Instructor Coordinator number if you are a current IC.
- You will need to know the type of membership that is best for you.

Standard Membership - This class of membership requires that a valid Instructor-Coordinator license in the State of Michigan be held. Each standard member carries one (1) vote in matters of Society business.
- Student Membership - This class of membership is for Individuals currently enrolled in an initial IC course or recent graduates who have not yet completed the licensure process. Once licensed, this class of membership becomes a Standard Membership and requires a payment of $75.
- Affiliate Membership - This class of membership is intended for non IC individuals interested in EMS education. Some examples of an affiliate member are Educator, Administrator, Subject Matter Expert, EMS Education Program Administrator, EMS Medical Director, Clinical Preceptor, or Practical Lab Assistant.
- Corporate Sponsor - This class of membership is intended for corporations with an interest in EMS education. Members of this class receive exhibitor space at no additional cost at the semi-annual Society Professional Development Conferences, a $100 savings when you exhibit at both conferences.
Current Members
You can renew your membership after logging into the website by clicking on the person icon found at the top right of our website. Once logged in, click on the same icon and select View Profile. On your profile page, you will see a button to renew your membership if you are eligible. Your profile page is also a great place to update your information.
Payment
After completing the new members application or renewal on your member profile page, you will be able to choose to pay by credit card or to print an invoice, enclose a check, and mail us your membership dues.
Once payment is received, your membership will be activated or renewed.
