The Society of Michigan |
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide professional development opportunities to ICs in good standing by awarding scholarships to the Society's Professional Development Conferences, based on demonstrated need or merit.
Scholarships are for conference registration fees. Partial scholarships (monetary awards) may be awarded.
Application ProcessTo apply for the scholarship, letters of application must be presented to the Society's Executive Director 30 days prior to the beginning of a conference. Approval of the award will be made by the Society's Board of Directors prior to any program registration deadline. Scholarships are for conference registration fees. Partial scholarships (monetary awards) may be awarded.
A letter of application must be submitted that details the financial need and that no other means of financial support is available, such as from an employer. The IC should detail teaching affiliations and level of activity.
Along with the letter of application, a letter of support from another Instructor Coordinator, preferably a Society Board Member, is required. Application should be sent to the Executive Director.
All letters can be emailed to admin@smemsic.org or mailed to 5967 Bedford Pl, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
Discriminating Criteria
A person who teaches for minimal or no compensation will have priority over others. Scholarships will not be awarded to the same recipient twice in a calendar year. Considerations for subsequent scholarships will be given to persons who have not received a scholarship previously.
