The trajectory of COVID-19 infection has continued in the wrong direction week after week. With no clear change in course for the near future, the board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 84th SMEMSIC Professional Development Conference.
The pandemic has stressed our organizations in ways few of us could have predicted. Instructor/coordinators are often leaned upon to identify problems and offer solutions. Your role impacts our providers’ approach to the stressful prehospital work environment. Thank you for your commitment to keeping EMS providers armed with the knowledge, skills, and equipment to care for those that have called for emergency medical services.
Great progress has been made in the pandemic mitigation efforts since we canceled the 83rd PDC. The Board is optimistic of the continued progress in treatment and prevention of the novel coronavirus infection. On behalf of the SMEMSIC Board, let me extend our warmest of healthy holiday wishes. We look forward to seeing you once again in the fall of 2021.
